From previous lesson , we were asked to research more and locates our ideas in number of context. We have to create an poster with 5 tasks that given by Sweii.
The poster that locates my final project idea which includes:
- 5 similar things to what you are thinking about - both direct and indirect associations, name them, show their covers, or an image from them, you are saying 'It will be like this....'
- 4 sources of inspiration (music, poetry, film, game, novel) that are in play when you think about this idea
- 3 'heroes' who you associate with the work you are doing
- 2 'theories' that are of relevance
- 1 'issue' you are aware of that will be involved in the making....(skills, knowledge, resources..)
Therefore, I have formed the requirements of the tasks in to the poster below.
Thus, I would like to further elaborate of the sources in the poster.
I have confirmed to build an interactive storytelling website for my final project. With this direction, I have done further research on some of the interactive storytelling website which I had listed below. With this 5 sources, I am clear with the objective in my final project.
5 Interactive storytelling website
I) Peugeot Hybrid 4
http://graphicnovel-hybrid4.peugeot.com/start.html
This is an interactive hypercomic website which promotes Peugeot Hybrid 4 with different modes. The transition in this website is parallax in both horizontal and vertical. Other than that, there is some layering effects and minor animation. What makes this website amaze me is, the integrate of the graphics and sound effects. When scroll until some specific part, the sound effects and graphics are synchronize to each other, from that it's attractive to the user.
II) The Hobbit: Journey through middle earth
This is one of the same benchmark as in the previous post. However, some extra points that I would like to add on. This is a storytelling website from the movie of The Hobbit. In this website, user may get to explore further on the middle-earth, get to know more about the places, the stories and characters. In this website, there are 6 locations that user might want to explore, each of the location has different interactivity. From this website, the variaty of interaction and some of the interactivity idea that I would like to pinch to my final project. This is a good benchmark and inspiring website for me however the weakness is, it may takes times to load.
III) Nawlz
http://www.nawlz.com
This is one of my favorite interactive comic website. Although it's not built in HTML 5 but the interactivity giving me huge inspiration on my final project. This website has innovate a new interaction and giving majestic feedbacks on the transitions and animation. Sound effects are synchronize very well to the illustration. It can be simple interaction such as mouse click and mouse over on the navigation but user are enjoyable.
IV)Brandongenerator
http://www.brandongenerator.com
This is an interactive website produced by Internet Explorer. In this website, there are 4 episodes, in each of them, user have to solve out the specific problems. What inspire me on this website is, user may explore in a bigger area rather than limit the interactivity.
V)The Wilderness Down Town
This is one of the the interactive website with not only stick into one windows but in the meantime of playing the film, the narrative will show through the pop out windows. This is also one of the website that I can learn from it and apply the ideas into my final project.
Among of the websites, I kind of focus on the interactivity for each of them. I found that, the interactive website tend to focus on more giving feedbacks to the user, it's important that the graphics has to synchronize to the sound effects. With simple navigation such as mouse click, mouse over or scrolling, the feedbacks are what user expect to see. Therefore, in my final project, I hope that the interaction of the website that could helps more into delivering the message and user may appreciate the illustration as well.
4 Sources of inspiration
My inspiration and ideas that come from animation, news, film or social bookmarking site such as Pinterest. Below is 4 of the sources that inspire me on my topic and some explanation on what makes them inspire me.
First of all, I got my ideas when I was reading some online news. I found that nowadays, kids are playing Ipad everyday. They tend to forgot their physical toy such as building blocks and so on. They taking Ipad whenever they go, however, in conversely back to the old days, kids are crazy on playing physical toy.
Thus, the one of the greatest animation Toy Story where the kids they always keep their favorite toy beside them and take them go everywhere. Therefore, I will keep this to my next post with the objective of my final project.
Alma, was a creepy animation. The story is about a shop that trapping kids spirit to it's own doll. There is a scene that inspire me when they boy passed by the shop and attracted by the doll which looks like him. What inspire me is the action and the feeling on the appetence of the boy hopes to own the doll and trying to get it no matter what happened.
Other sources of inspiration is from Pinterest. From that, it provides different visuals that allow me to collect for my different projects and interests. It's very helpful website to collect the ideas from different aspect.

1 Issue
The issue that I concern about is the technical issue, some of the effect that I might hard to archive and limited sources that I can get through online.
